monsterHe had always lived there. His mother had left him when he was born, without even a soft hug or a goodbye kiss. He only felt it when she left; it took him three more days before he could open his eyes to the darkness that he would call home.

Dust bunnies were what he first saw. Food. He would always remember the way the dust felt on his tongue: coarse, but soft. That was what he had always eaten since. He never complained except for when the dust had crumbs in it – disgusting.

He always stayed in his hiding place – though void of any possession, he felt solace from the safety against the frightening noises he heard from outside. P
